In this tutorial, I’ll show you how to view the power usage of processes in Task Manager on your Windows PC. This feature can help you monitor which applications are using the most power, which is useful for optimizing battery life and improving system performance.

Task Manager in Windows 11 lets you manage processes, performance, app history, users, and services. From build 17704 onward, it includes two new columns in the “Processes” tab to monitor energy consumption. The Power usage column shows the current power consumption of apps and services, while the Power usage trend column tracks power usage over a 2-minute period. This trend starts blank and updates every two minutes. This guide will show you how to view the power usage of running processes in Task Manager.

This tutorial will apply for computers, laptops, desktops, and tablets running the Windows 11 & Windows 10 operating system (Home, Professional, Enterprise, Education) from all supported hardware manufactures, like Dell, HP, Acer, Asus, Toshiba,Lenovo, and Samsung).
