12,000How to warm up tires in Formula 3. This is a clip from a race I did at Silverstone in British F3. My tire warm up strategy varies depending on the car or track, but I always follow the same core philosophy. My primary objective is to bring the front tires and rear tires up to temperature at the same time to make sure the car is balanced going into T1. Secondly, I want the core/carcass temp of the tires to build at the same rate as the surface temp to make sure the tire has peak performance and longevity for the race.
This is much easier said than done when stuck behind a slow safety car though lol
