How you'll lose your ENTIRE PS4 library [REUPLOAD]
261Once the PlayStation network is retired for the PS3 and PS4, there will be no network time server available for your old consoles.
And when the clock battery dies in your PS3 or PS4, much of--if not your entire--PlayStation library will become entirely unplayable.
It has to do with the timekeeping requirements of the PS3 and PS4. Once the clock battery dies, the PlayStation firmware is required to synchronize its time with PSN. If the PS3 can't synchronize its time, then the console won't launch PSN titles.
But if the PS4 can't synchronize its time, then the console will refuse to launch disc-based retail games.
YOUR ENTIRE PLAYSTATION LIBRARY FOR THE PS4 BECOMES OBSOLETE.
And don't feed me the fanboy line "just upgrade to a PS5 and you can keep playing most of your games."
That's an absolute load of crap.
