How to install The Elder Scrolls Online Beta on Linux using wine :

Please keep in mind, this video is one year old. This how-to below still works but beside the manual installation, you can save a lot of time (and headache for Linux newcomers) by using PlayonLinux :

I) Get PlayonLinux:
---------------------------
Using your distro package manager get PlayonLinux
https://www.playonlinux.com/en/download.html

II) Install TESO using the automated POL script:
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Once POL is installed, simply use this TESO installation script:
https://www.playonlinux.com/en/app-1990-The_Elder_Scrolls_Online.html

III) Game is now working, you're good to go!

I) Installation :
--------------------
-Download the bethesda launcher
-To install the actual game either :
a) Install it on windows and copy over the actual game on your linux box (you'll need to update the game on windows tho)
b) Or add the missing certificate : http://blog.internetz.me/2014/02/28/eso-install-linux-kali-also-works-ubuntudebian
c) Or use Wine-staging (wine +many experimental patches):

d) Or build wine from source and apply a patch:

cd ~/wine-git

Once the launcher is working and you've installed the game, you will need to:

II) Set the game to opengl :

- In the folder "My documents/Elder Scrolls Online/live/"
- Create a new text file : "UserSettings.txt"
- add the following text to it : SET GraphicsDriver.7 "OPENGL"

III) Now the game is working:
