This is an example test video of the HTC Evo 3D (in 2D mode) smartphone video camera camcorder feature (using the rear-facing 5 megapixel main camera). Note that the audio codec that is always employed by this Android when using video capture resolutions that are 640x480 and above is MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a) that records audio in stereo at 44100 Hz, and the video codec that is always employed when using video capture resolutions that are 640x480 and above is H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1). The audio recording, although loud, sounds echoed and slightly hollow. Video under fast movement becomes blocky with large MPEG artifact pixels appearing. Frames per second also take a hit under fast motion. However, file sizes are very small and the smartphone does well as adjusting for lighting, brightness and contrast changes on-the-fly.
