This is an example test video of the Motorola XT-860 Android smartphone video camera camcorder feature (using the rear-facing 8 megapixel main camera). Note that the audio codec that is always employed by the XT 860 when using video capture resolutions that are 640x480 and above is MPEG AAC Audio (mp4a) that records audio in stereo at 44100 Hz, and the video codec that is always employed when using video capture resolutions that are 640x480 and above is H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10) (avc1). Both audio and video streams are clear and crisp. The smartphone handles fast movement brilliantly, maintaining image clarity and frames per second. However, this comes at the expense of file sizes, which are relatively larger than other smartphones that record video using the H264 codec. Video also seems to have a blue tint to it and I've seen faster automatic adjustments for lighting, brightness and contrast changes on-the-fly with other smartphones. Finally, video recorded in HD resolutions (either 720p or 1080p) will most likely not play on a personal computer that has less than a dual-core processor.
