Today we are going to be talking about Dwarf Fortress.

Dwarf Fortress for people who do not know, is a simulation building
and survival game. There are two different types of modes, one where you
can build a colony of dwarfs and one where you can control one dwarf and
do quests, explore and all that. One game that is kind of comparable and
popular right now is RimWorld.

I am making this video because we just got some news from one of the
developers that graphics and better UI are coming to the game and also
the game is coming to Steam and Itch.io(Itch.io being a place for
indie games and other indie stuff)

Dwarf Fortress is super complex with in my opinion, having an infinite
amount of results and different scenarios that can happen.

The game came out in 2006 and was made by two people. It is free and
supported by donations. The creators have stated that this is a passion
project and also their lifes work and that they will not stop working on
it.

The game right now and since launch has text based graphics where most
things seen on the screen are letters and symbols

I personally love dwarf fortress but what always drives me away is the fact
that the UI and interface is just all over the place and the lack of
graphics. I do watch a lot of gameplay of the game, but i think the game
itself has a huge learning curve.

But this is huge news in my opinion and this game can finally compete with
other top building survival and strategy games.

Also from this video that i linked, the developer states that all the
artwork and graphics are going to be done by long time modders of the game.

I think this is a great idea because these modders have an excellent
understanding of the game.

Overall i am super excited for this games release on steam and i just
wanted to share this game with people who have not heard of it yet.
