Humankind - Putting the Butt in Assyrian - Let's Play #2 - Olmecs - Nation Difficulty Full Release
25Things started well in Humankind, but they aren't going well now thanks to the Beowulf led Assyrians punishing my clumsiness with some early aggression. In this Let's Play episode, my initial early progress has been pushed back a fair chunk. Obviously, it's not game breaking, but this episode entails the inevitable cascading set of failures that comes from getting smacked in the face so early in the run. Can I recover? Sure. Is it going to take some work. Absolutely. But I don't know if a hybrid food/influence build is going to fix what this early game has presented me due to aggressive neighbors.
Humankind is a strategic turn based 4X where the goal is to do everything you can to be the greatest civilization the world has ever known. That could be through war, through culture, or just by firing rockets off into space. There are many avenues to take as you play through the game, weaving from culture to culture and adjusting accordingly. But at the end of the day, the choices are for you to make. Will you lead humanity to salvation, or will everyone else be forced to bend the knee. It's not unlike Civilization, but Amplitude Studio's Magnum Opus carries itself on its own two legs. In this series, we'll see how far we can run with it.
