Beating the C1 teams in our highly-powered car isn't enough to give our run for money. So to earn some money we go up against some of the toughest wanderers at early attempts to earn money, however, it takes skill and performance to overwhelm these rivals.

Also, winning against wanderers earn you bonus money more than the team leaders can offer you. However, you must be sure you want to take on those you're capable of defeating, because you'll sometimes get less money than expected for your second try. For example, Anguish Barbarian is give outs to you $8,000 the first time you beat him. If you lose to him and retry anytime later he'll give $3,500 instead, which is 43.75% of the cash you receive after defeating him the second time around.

Anguish Barbarian is presumably one of the hardest wanderers to win against early in the game because he has 500 horsepower and rockets down the straights, slow in the corner though. The only way in winning against this fearsome foe is to be in the lead for the majority of the race and block him whenever he decides to overtake you.
