Hydro Flask insulated water bottle review
A quick review of the stainless steel insulated water bottle from Hydro Flask (http://amzn.to/1sghudS) which is, in my opinion, the best insulated water bottle sold today.
I was on the lookout for the best insulated water bottle and this is what I found. In particular, I wanted something that was stainless steel (not plastic like a Nalgene and not glass like the Bkr or Life Factory), with a really good secure cap. As I did my research I realized that stainless steel water bottles are expensive, but the flipside to that if you don't have to pay much more for them to be insulated. So for a few dollars more I have something that will keep my water cold and my coffee hot (if I was to put coffee in there).
This water bottle is a sturdy stainless steel with a cool paint job and a polished end. So it looks really nice, but even better is that it works. Obviously it holds liquids well, but it also is easy to fill, easy to clean, and keeps the liquids at my desired temperature for long periods of time.
This bottle was a big upgrade for me. My last water bottle was a Sigg, which I used for a long time but it wasn't very good. First of all, the cap on the Sigg had a very fine thread, which meant it could be mis-threaded and leak. This happened to me a few times, once in my bag ruining a my smartphone (thanks Sigg). Next, the Sigg isn't insulated, which wasn't a concern for me at the time and helps to keep the weight down, but for the price it's a nice feature. Lastly the paint on the Sigg chips. This isn't an issue around the bottom where you put the bottom down on rough surfaces, but the Sigg's paint is also chipping around the cap, whic is unsightly and gross.
So, if you are in the market for the best water bottle, I'd say go Hydro Flask. My pick was the 21oz, insulated, with the standard mouth, but they offer water bottles in different sizes and with a wide mouth which is easier to clean while being harder to drink from.
