HYDROPLANE CRASH in Karting...
148,005My kart hydroplaned and the crash that followed was unavoidable... The lap before this, I rolled off the throttle and onto the brake in a slower manner which prevented the weight from transfering too quickly. The rear tires became too light and locked basically instantly. I made sure to keep the kart pointed straight as long as possible, and I pumped the brakes to try and get the rear tires gripped up again. But once I knew the kart wasn't going to stop in time, I let the kart spin backwords so I wouldn't hurt my legs with a frontal impact, and finally I went full throttle to dampen the impact. Hydroplaning is one of those sensations you have to experience to fully respect....
