Ubisoft’s Battle Royale Hyper Scape was surprise dropped in July of 2020 on PC. Focusing on twitch integration it had success in it’s first month among the crowded field, but just a few days after it’s official launch in August Gamespot was reporting how it was struggling to find an audience. In 6 months Ubisoft was giving people $10 coupons just to try it out. In late January 2022, a year and a half after it’s debut, Ubisoft announced it would be shutting off the servers just before its 2nd anniversary. What happened to Hyper Scape?
