Hyper SF2++ [Arcade] - CPU controlling the WW bosses
This is a demonstration of what happens if you force the CPU to control the 'NORMAL' / World Warrior versions of the bosses Balrog, Vega, Sagat and M.Bison. Read on below for more information...
In HSF2, usually the CPU opponents are programmed to control only the SSF2T versions of the characters. There is no instance in the game where the CPU ever controls a non-SSF2T version character.
Therefore by using alternate methods, I've forced the CPU to control the 'NORMAL' /World Warrior versions of the bosses. I've done this for the sake of curiosity... so if you've ever wondered what happens when this is done, well you can now see this in the video.
The result is that it resets the game a LOT. The characters have the wrong jumping velocities and walking speeds, and have the wrong animations for some moves. Sometimes they even mess up the entire colour palettes of the screen (because of a flawed colour palette applied to the character). Overall it's very messed up and can easily reset the game if the CPU does something wrong.
The interesting thing is, despite the CPU being forced to control the WW versions of the characters, they still have elements of the SSF2T versions. Here are the examples for each character:
===== BALROG =====
When he does his Dashing Punch move (which is flawed), he still has his SSF2 voice. Human WW Balrog doesn't have this. Has a fair chance of resetting the game if the CPU does something wrong.
===== VEGA =====
When he does his Barcelona Strike (which is flawed), he does the wall one instead of the invisible fence one like the human WW Vega has. He also has access to the SSF2T back-flip move as well, which is also flawed. Has a high chance of resetting the game if the CPU does something wrong.
===== SAGAT =====
The most 'normal' of the lot and the most "intact". He has access to his Tiger Knee, and uses his SSF2 voice. Human WW Sagat does not have these. He can still reset the game if the CPU does something wrong.
===== M.BISON =====
Extremely prone to resetting the game if the CPU does something wrong, most likely due to some incorrect basic move animations. Uses his SSF2 voice, and if he lands his Head Stomp (not blocked) it resets the game. Has a tendency to sometimes mess up the entire screen's colours due to having a flawed colour palette applied to him.
===== CONCLUSION =====
It's clear that the CPU in HSF2 simply isn't programmed to control non-SSF2T version characters, as a lot of resets and wrong/flawed animations for moves occur when you force it to. This not only applies to the bosses, but it applies to the other characters in the game as well.
The reason for all these resets and wrong/flawed animations is because the CPU has been built with SSF2T data values, so what happens is that it applies SSF2T aspects to even non-SSF2T version characters. That's why you get all the weird stuff.
