Akuma is a hidden final boss in the game. He is an unlockable playable character.
===== About HFS2++ Akuma =====
The creator has made it so that the process to select Akuma is easier in this version of the game. He has also changed his portrait into the actual detailed image instead of just being a black silhouette. As you can see, it looks far better.
===== About Akuma =====
He's the same as in SSF2T. As usual, the human player version of him can only perform one air fireball, but he is still a very powerful character in the game.
===== About Hyper Street Fighter 2 =====
HSF2 is basically an "upgraded" version of SSF2T which features all playable versions of the characters from all the previous SF2 games. The only character versions that are missing are The World Warrior versions of the bosses. It should also be noted that Shin Akuma / CPU Akuma (the one with the Double Air Fireball) cannot be selected in the normal version of the game.
HSF2 is originally a PS2 console game. The arcade CPS-II version came second and is inferior to the PS2 version because it lacks the high resolution/progressive scanning and does not have the CPS1 and Remixed soundtracks. The arcade version of the game is supposedly limited in quantity.
