The HyperX Alloy Elite RGB is the next logical step up from last years ‘elite’ model now supporting, the key is in the name, RGB lighting!
Construction is robust with a solid steel frame, Cherry MX RED mechanical Switches, and thick USB lead that includes a USB 2 pass though for quick device connection.
There is a dedicated Game mode, activated by pressing the target button on the top, turns off the windows key so you don’t need to worry about hitting it by accident and there are Media keys on the top right, including a volume wheel, which are handy for when watching content like movies or youtube.
For Lighting there is a Light bar at the top as well as each key having its own illumination allowing you to have different colours on each key, or only have the keys you are using lit up so they are easy to find. These are controlled with a dedicated button for brightness and another for cycling through the different pattern options. This includes a game one which only lights the main keys that you need that can be customised and save as 3 different profiles for use on the go. A set of gaming focused textured keys are included in the box along with a key puller.
The HyperX Alloy Elite RGB keyboard is a great choice for those who want a no nonsense high quality gaming keyboard that can also do media and is good for typing on. The RGB lighting looks great and the mode button for switching between lighting profiles means there is no messing with software before you start every game.
