Here we are introduced to Daruk and get to play as him in the stage. This stage has us utilize three characters to both defend our bases and Goron allies and attack the monsters. Not too hard to do so long as you leave at least one person behind for when monster ambushes occur. Just don't expect the AI to actually defeat the enemy on their own, you pretty much have to do everything yourself. The good news is that you non-active characters never die on their own, or at least they never did for me in the entire time I played this.

Daruk has a pretty solid moveset. You might think he'd be slow, but his sword swings are actually pretty damn fast. He's a pretty simple character to use as well. His Charge attacks will leave rocks around the battlefield, and press ZR will detonate them and damage nearby enemies.

The boss for this stage is the first proper one we fight, an Igneo Talus. Its weak point is the crystal jutting out from it, but it's hard to reach with it being so high up. An Igneo Talus is fire based, so hitting it with an ice attack will stun it for a while. Cryonis doesn't count as an ice attack, unfortunately, you'll have to use an Ice Rod.

On that note, you can obtain rods of different elements by defeating Wizzros or breaking boxes and getting lucky. The rods can be used to stun enemies, especially if you hit them with an element that's opposite from their own. You can also use Fire Rods to roast Apples you haven't picked up yet, which make them heal more hearts. Just roasting one apple and adding it to your inventory counts as roasting the whole lot of them. No, that doesn't make sense, shut up. It's better than having to manually roast each one of them.
