I Agree With YouTube's Opposition To The Manipulation Meta 🙂
1Throughout my experience on YouTube, there have been two kinds of creators:
- Creators who care about people and try to make stuff people like or that they like and perhaps some others will like too. The focus is on people.
- Creators who care about numbers and do whatever it takes to grow their channel. The focus is on numbers.
It's this second group that has introduced multimedia to this idea that if your channel's not growing it's dying. To these people, there is no such thing as you having a good group of fans and having fun. The numbers must always be going up.
It is these people constantly trying to play the system that has spawned various YouTube policy updates and technical changes either to address people problems via policy enforcement or technologically break the ability to play the system.
All of this of course in the drive to create a better YouTube for those of us who actually want to play by the rules. 🙂
