I am enjoying this Map (and game) | PAX AUGUSTA | Realistic Roman City-builder | Ep.12
Hello there, all you wonderful people, and welcome to another episode of An Ecologist Plays, where we talk about nature while playing games. This is the fourth (of four) part of the live stream I had on 4 May 2025, of the Roman city-builder, Pax Augusta. Developed by one person (with some input from others for specialist tasks), this game brings Roman civilization to life. Now, it should be easy to build a city, right? Not if you are trying to build as ecologically-sustainable as possible! So, here's my challenge: I am not allowed to build in floodplains or wetlands, have to set out areas for conservation, and have to maintain corridors within my city for animals to move through. Can I still build a thriving city despite these restrictions? Let's find out!
In this part of the live stream, we attempt to expand our settlement along the Gentle Coast, while sticking to the environmentally-conscious guidelines we set out at the start.
I live stream every Sunday 18:00-20:00 South African time (UTC+2), so join me then for some nice, relaxing, educational streams.
