I Found A REALLY CRAZY BUG Through "The Brute Force File Finale" But It's 99.999% PREVENTABLE!
So I don't want to sound like I'm overselling this bug, but the fact that it even exists is crazy on its own.
Let me try explaining it in here too..
When you join an out-of-session job, activity or setup, this bug does not take effect.
When you join or participate in an out-of-session job, activity, setup or heist that requires you to go through two screens prior to starting the activity ("Waiting For Players To Join" and "Your Loadout" screens), this bug will not take effect.
When you participate in an in-session job, activity or setup, this bug does not take effect.
However, when you join a job or activity that takes you into your own session temporarily, such as through the FIB Files for example, WITHOUT a "Waiting For Players To Join" screen (typically found at the start of races, Auto Shop Contract finales, or more) this bug WILL TAKE EFFECT!
Why? This is my theory on it.
The game situates your character anywhere on the map that even you can control in freemode, considered as an "On-Mission 0 Model", and when you start a job or activity that gives you this "Waiting For Players To Join" screen, your character's location still exists in the game until the job is about to start, in which this data is temporarily vaulted and deleted (which is why "Job Teleporting" exists so when you do try to start the Job, but you leave before the Job is confirmed to start, your "On-Mission 0 Model" data respawns at the job's start point, effectively resulting in a "Job Teleport", but if you don't enter the "Select Your Loadout" screen while you're still in the "Waiting For Players To Join" screen, your data respawns at your "On-Mission 0 Model" last location, resulting in no Job Teleport.)
With this information on hand, the FIB Files' Finales do not have these "Waiting For Players To Join" or "Select Your Loadout" screens, and takes you right into your own "On-Mission 1" session, which results in your "On-Mission 0 Model" data's last known location to still remain in a session, effectively vaulting any active data of your "On-Mission 0 Model" but not entirely deleting it, which at least prevents your character from being messed with in its own session during your mission to prevent your character from unexpectedly becoming wasted.
What does this result in?
A bug you can come across yourself most notably during the Brute Force File in which you have to go through either checkpoint of Fort Zancudo before entering Fort Zancudo to progress. But if your "On-Mission 0 Model" data is located within the boundaries of Fort Zancudo, the mission will automatically determine that you have already entered Fort Zancudo and no longer need to go through the checkpoints before entering Fort Zancudo, ultimately softlocking this option from progressing by normal means.
HOW TO BYPASS THIS BUG?
1: Do not start these missions, lacking in "Waiting For Players To Join" screens, in the area in which you need to progress..
Or in other words, don't start the Brute Force File through your phone while you're in Fort Zancudo.
2: The much less recommended method to cancel this softlock is to use your selected car from your earlier setups to run over one of the guards in Fort Zancudo, some of which can be located near the parking lot you are required to park your vehicle at, which ruins your element of surprise (and prevents you from getting one of the Files' elite challenges "Enter Area A undetected" lowering your bonus cut from $50K to $30K) which will send the entire base on lockdown and you can now progress the mission.
In the end though, this bug is very very easy to avoid. And yet if you did somehow come across this, now you know how to bypass it! It's very easy to avoid. Just don't start the File Finale while in Fort Zancudo.
