51Ghost Whisperer is the greatest show of all time. Everything about it is terrible and I genuinely can't stop watching. Everything about it is pure nonsense. The ghost lore makes no sense, the acting is worse than a literal high school musical, and Gus Fring is only in ONE episode (he gets beat up by Jesse Pinkman)!
The show is obsessed with formerly alive children and in the first 6 episodes, 6 kids are shown as ghosts... 6/6 is a pretty good score!
This next part might be controversial but I think it's important anyway, living in the US during a massive debate over babies and mothers rights... I really wasn't expecting to watch a anti-adoption episode of a TV show. You read that right, anti-ADOPTION, a take I'd never heard before! The show actively paints both the original mother and the adopted mother as bad people! the adopted mother was extremely loving and caring and the birth mother was a teenager without the financial means or family support to raise a child on her own and she's a bad guy because her son grew up extremely happy with another family! What an absolutely wild take. You can say whatever you want about what led up to having a child that young but that isn't what the show bashed her for!
Anyway I'm half way through s2 now and it only gets worse. The show loves to take the absolutely worst possible position on every single issue while trying to save face and it baffles me. There's an episode with a ghost that has autism and right before walking into the light the guy looks at the main character in the eyes and smiles. OOOOOOooooh boy! What a world!
Anyway the members voted on this rant so blame them.
