Today in Dungeon Clawler we play as Greg, a character that gains 2% bonus Damage per item in the Deck - and if we use his paws 3 times, we gain 8% bonus damage instead. Meaning the plan is simple - pick every item I come across and hope that I will always have something to attack with that got decent damage. That also means any item that already reaches high damage on it's own is extra useful, since the high multiplier we will have will skyrocket it's damage.
