I Really Have to Play Metro Last Light Redux!
10I really have to play this game! Having beat Exodus and 2033 (the 3rd and 1st game) in that order I really had to get around to playing the 2nd game in the trilogy. So here we are!
This game is a blast on PC with super fast and responsive controls and graphics that hold up pretty damn well for a 10 year old game. Close up characters (faces, skin and hair) don't look great and really don't hold up that well today but some of the lighting and texture detail sure does. The game can still look amazing at times and if you have a high refresh rate monitor you're in for a treat with this one. The game is very fast paced and very much an action game first and foremost. There's a little bit of story, but not much. There's a little bit of weapons upgrades, but not much. Honestly it's mostly just run and gun with lots of ammo to mow down all the enemies in sight (at least on the Ranger mode I'm playing)
The game is awesome but remember it's a sequel and at this point if you haven't played any of the Metro games you should start with 2033 and work your way through them all. This game is maybe a little more action packed than the first game but it's not really all that different at the end of the day. Just be sure to grab the Redux version for 2033 and Last Light and for Exodus grab the Enhanced Edition version only if you have an RTX or Radeon 6000 or newer as it won't run on older GPU's. You'll need the base version if you have an older GPU that doesn't support RT.
