We are interviewing Signal Space Lab Creative Director, Avi Winkler.
Human Within is a FMV game where you're put in the mind of Linh where you have to help your sister and try to get her out from their captive who is trying to use their developed technology in some dangerous ways. You will have to make decisions that will branch out the story, accompanied by puzzles and interaction throughout the game. Come check it out!
About the Game
Cyber Engineer, Nyla, and her sister, Linh, developed a way to harness the immense processing power of the human brain to create the ultimate supercomputer. Employed by Forward Industries, they managed to transfer human consciousness to the digital space. But after trying to back out of the project, things took an unexpected turn. Held against their will, Nyla finds herself in a situation that forces her to use the technology in the very way she feared it would be.
Human Within combines an original branching storyline with video game playability. Its unique blend of storytelling and gameplay offers players a one-of-a-kind interactive experience. Technical features include:
USER INVOLVEMENT: Experiencing the story from Linh's consciousness within a virtual internet space provides a way to observe the events taking place and have a level of participation unlike anything else.
POINT CLOUD INTERACTIVITY: These sequences serve as pace-breaking moments where users engage with the story even further, bringing a new degree of interactivity to the mix.
CHOICE AND CONSEQUENCE: At key moments in the story events are defined by the user's choices. These moments define how events unfolded in the past and determine how it all ends in the present.
STYLE VARIETY: The story is told using a combination of three distinct visual styles: The Internet Space blending 2D film and 3D graphics, Flashback Scenes with interactive 360 degree stereo film, and Point Cloud recreations with 6DoF 3D environments.
