In this video, I take apart both an original Nintendo 64 controller and the 8BitDo 64 to see if the N64’s buttons can be swapped into the modern shell.

I test everything — A, B, Start, the C-buttons, and the D-pad — using both the original N64 rubber pads and the 8BitDo 64’s own pads. Along the way, you’ll see what fits perfectly, what won’t fit at all, and what technically fits but just doesn’t work right.
