I Want This - RTX 5080 Super
Okay, so the RTX 5080. Now I know it's popular on the internet to hate on this GPU and it's for good reason, I get it. I mean, it's a cool $1,000, it's got the same 16 gigabytes of VRAM and it's barely improved performance versus the RTX 4080. But I'm gonna give a bit of an unpopular opinion, a hot take as they say, and I actually think the RTX 5080, it's not that bad.

Sure, it's not a very great improvement, but at the very least, we're not going up in price. It's staying at $999 versus the $1,199 of the 4080. Thankfully, it's staying to the 4080 super pricing, although of course, I would like to see lower, and you are getting better price to performance, better AI performance, as well as newer features.

So I really don't think it's a terrible graphics card, but it is a bit disappointing, especially if you're say a 4080 owner, and you are looking forward to a big improvement to your performance. You're just not getting that with the 5080. And it's very bizarre because if you take a look at the RTX 5080, with just 84 SMs, it was never gonna be a large improvement over the RTX 4080. And it's so bizarre because there's actually a ton of overclocking room left in the tank of the RTX 5080. In fact, you'll have a video on it soon, but with the 5080, you can basically match the RTX 4090, or at least get close to it when you do a simple overclock on it.

And that does bring me to talking about the Super Series, because yes, I do think we are gonna get a Super Series with the RTX 50 series. Now I could be wrong, but I did say the same thing about the 40 series that did end up coming true, although to be fair, the 40 series desperately needed it, whereas the RTX 50 series, the main benefit would simply be more VRAM. And if Nvidia doesn't get enough competition or pressure from AMD as well as Intel, then they may simply choose not to release the RTX Super Series. However, of course, as always, Nvidia is gonna go ahead and think about every move they might need to make in the future. And I think a Super Series would be part of that.
