At a dinner I hosted this week I had a discussion about preparing food. I enjoy hosting dinners and regularly cook for a dozen people at a time, and I've even cooked for groups of up to 150 people at my house. Someone asked me what my trick is and I repeated what I've said often, to guests or even my children: The most important ingredient in the kitchen, is the number of the pizza delivery service.
What I mean is: I cook like I have nothing to lose. If half the potatoes burn, I'll assume the other half taste even better. If everything burns, I'll order pizza. Nothing lost. This mindset allows me to experience freely and fearlessly.
