And just like that, the wind has been knocked out of my sails yet again. Seems to be a common occurence this year. Well, that and making more progress than I expect. Seems like 2020 has been a year of ebbs and flows. Oh well, it is what it is.
So, yeah, for starters, finding the next boss ate up a whole lot of time. I ended up going in the wrong direction at first, ending up at Death's door (literally) on my first attempt for looking for the next boss. Granted, as much as I consider it a waste of time in the context of this stream, it will save me a hell of a lot of time next time.
After that, I eventually managed to find where I was SUPPOSED to be going next. Admittedly, I am impressed with just how non-linear OoE's castle is, despite its smaller size compared to other games in the Metroidvania line. Not to mention those extra bonus areas I found completely by accident. Both of those ended up kicking my ass, but they were interesting.
But eventually, I did make it to Eligor, the next boss I was supposed to fight. And Lord almighty, he was even worse than Blackmore, somehow. It was to the extent where I literally had to spend so much of the stream grinding for two weapons to beat that damn giant centaur. On the plus side, I also gained a couple of levels in the process, but frankly, the grind in this game is annoying in general. Really doesn't help that items and even money are in such scant supply, that you essentially might end up screwing yourself if you decide to use whatever healing items you have to make it through a particularly difficult session, you're dooming yourself to either selling off what few leftover items you have left and grinding for money for hours to make up the difference.
At this rate, I'm not sure if I'll beat this next time or after two more streams. Could go either way, honestly.
