Treasure's swansong to the Sega Dreamcast was this fast pace arcade shooter. During development it had the code name of (Project RS2) but it isn't a direct sequel to Radiant Silvergun. It does however feature a number of nods to Slivergun and uses a similar colour related scoring system. Not Treasure's finest hour, Treasure spent a little to long trying to make the game as challenging as possible and not enough on content, gameplay and balancing. With only five levels the game feel somewhat lacklustre when compared next to Radiant Silvergun. Ikaruga is a enjoyable arcade shooter just not a great one, go for Border Down, Mars Matrix or Giga Wing 1 & 2 instead on the Dreamcast.
