Story:
Normandy, late afternoon on D-day.
British C-47 are being sent to provide supplies and reinforcements to the glider-borne troops that had seized the Pegasus bridge shortly after midnight on 6 June.
Flying across the English channel, they cross the coast successfully and begin their drops to support the troops on the ground.
Their mission accomplished, they turn for home but come under AA fire from German forces still fighting around the objective. Braving the enemy fire, the C-47's fly back towards the setting sun to RAF Manston where they will be based until new, improvised airfields are prepared on the Normandy coastline.
