Ill-Fated (Scenarios and Deaths/Failures) - Teens Explore a Haunted House and Meet a Terrible End
24Ill-Fated has you play as three teens sneaking into a haunted house and getting trapped inside by supernatural elements. It is a story of using their separate strengths to overcome the challenges of each room to earn their freedom.
This is not that sort of story. This is a story of hordes of teens meeting a terrible end to each scenario you can experience.
Each teen has two traits. Each scenario has a perfect trait to make it by unharmed and secondary traits that have a chance of success. Lucky seems to be an all-purpose "you might just make it through" unharmed trait. You use 1 stamina to act and failure loses 1 health. If you have no stamina then you pay for it in health (so a failure with no stamina loses two health).
It is possible to have someone die using a skill successfully (1 health left with no stamina). This gives you a successful outcome with the extra line that "Character X is too exhausted to continue and must be left behind". It's also possible for the game to bug out when your third character dies and not go to the game over screen.
It's a pretty short game made for a Game Jam and it's not hard to complete it but it's fun to try and has some interesting outcomes (particularly for successful uses of the Ruthless trait).
