In service monitoring and reporting for automated driving safety | AI for Good
The Focus Group on AI for Automated and Assisted Driving is organizing a Workshop on “In service monitoring and reporting for automated driving safety” on 16 May 2022 (13h00-16h00 CEST).\n“How safe is safe enough?” has become the key question for developers and regulators to ensure the public safety benefit of automated driving.\n\nIn fact, it’s really two separate questions that need to be answered:\n– How safe is safe enough to be granted a license to operate on the public road?\n– How safe is safe enough while operating on the public road?\n\nThis webinar and workshop will explore the latter question required for in-service safety assurance of automated vehicle operation once they have been approved for use on public roads. What in-service monitoring and reporting will be required to assure safety? How can we build public trust using in-service monitoring of safety? Why is in-service monitoring critical in building a no-blame safety culture of continual improvement? What evidence will be required for an in-service safety regulator to impose sanctions ranging covering warnings, fines, compliance orders, license suspensions and withdrawals?\n\nSpeakers: \nMaria Cristina Galassi, Scientific Project Officer, European Commission\nEspedito Rusciano, Senior Advisor, Dutch Vehicle Authority (RDW)\nJan Reich, Expert Autonomous System/ADAS Safety, Fraunhofer IESE\nMarcus Nolte, Research Associate, Institute of Control Engineering, TU Braunschweig\nSiddartha Khastgir, Head of Verification & Validation of CAV at WMG, University of Warwick\nWill Perren, Safety and Risk Consultant, TRL\n\nModerators:\nBryn Balcombe, Founder, Director & CSO, Roborace, Autonomous Drivers Alliance (ADA)\n\n\nJoin the Neural Network! \nhttps://aiforgood.itu.int/neural-network/\nThe AI for Good networking community platform powered by AI. \nDesigned to help users build connections with innovators and experts, link innovative ideas with social impact opportunities, and bring the community together to advance the SDGs using AI.\n\n Watch the latest #AIforGood videos!\n\n\nExplore more #AIforGood content:\n AI for Good Top Hits\n • Top Hits \n\n AI for Good Webinars\n • AI for Good Webinars \n\n AI for Good Keynotes\n • AI for Good Keynotes \n\n Stay updated and join our weekly AI for Good newsletter:\nhttp://eepurl.com/gI2kJ5\n\n Discover what's next on our programme!\nhttps://aiforgood.itu.int/programme/\n\nCheck out the latest AI for Good news:\nhttps://aiforgood.itu.int/newsroom/\n\nExplore the AI for Good blog:\nhttps://aiforgood.itu.int/ai-for-good-blog/\n\n Connect on our social media:\nWebsite: https://aiforgood.itu.int/\nTwitter: https://twitter.com/ITU_AIForGood\nLinkedIn Page: https://www.linkedin.com/company/26511907 \nLinkedIn Group: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8567748 \nInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/aiforgood \nFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/AIforGood\n\nWhat is AI for Good?\nThe AI for Good series is the leading action-oriented, global & inclusive United Nations platform on AI.
