IN THE HUNT (ARCADE - FULL GAME + ALL ENDINGS)
22Zeus presents In The Hunt on the Arcade, a true classic from the golden era of Arcade gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the programmers that were involved in making this game.
Year of release: 1993
A shmup with a difference,...you control a submarine, I don't recall many other games in the arcades that did something similar.
Battle your way through 6 large levels blasting everything in your path including dangerous underwater mines and large bosses.
Graphics are gorgeous from the same base that brought us the Metal Slug games,...you can certainly see the similarities in the graphic style, music is loud and crisp with nice sound fx.
There are a total of 4 different endings which are time listed below, the best ending seems to be for using a continue whereas the slightly poorer ending is reserved for completing the game without using a continue which to me is a bit odd unless they accidently got the endings the wrong way round,...hmm.
In 2 player co-op mode after beating the final boss, you and the other player must fight it out and the last one standing gets to be in charge of the ending, however if you both die you get an alternate ending where you both sink.
Ending 1 - No Continues used: 34:10
Ending 2 - Continue used: 36:04
Ending 3 - 2 Player co-op fight winner: 37:41
Ending 4 - 2 Player co-op fight time out, both lose: 39:15
I have used the invincibility cheat so I could show the so called best ending where no continues are used to gain it.
