An Incorrect Clock either gains or loses times. So, time interval indicated by such a clock will different from that actually shown by a true clock.
+ve when incorrect clock gains time.
-ve when incorrect clock loses time.
In a correct clock, both the hands coincide at interval of 65* 5/11 minutes.
1. Minute hand covers 360º in 1 hour, i.e. 60 minutes.
Hence, Minute hand covers 6º per minutes.
2. Hours hand covers 360º in 12 hours.
Hence, Hours hands covers 30º per hours. i.e. ½º per minutes.
3. In a period of 12 hours, the hands make an angle of 0º with each other (i.e., they coincide with each other), 11 times.
4. In a period of 12 hours, the hands make an angle of 180º with each other (i.e., they lie on the same straight line), 11 times.
5. In a period of 12 hours, the hands make an angle of 90º or any other angle with each other, 22 times.
6. The face or dial of a watch is a circle whose circumference is divided into 60 equal parts, called minute spaces.
7. A clock has two hands, the smaller one is called hour hand or short hand while the larger one is called the minute hand or longer hand.
8. In 60 minutes, the minute hand gains 55 minutes on the hour hand.
9. In every hour, both the hands coincide once.
10. The hands are in the same straight line when they are coincident or opposite to each other.
11. When the two hands are at right angles, they are 15 minute spaces apart.
12. When the hands are in opposite direction, they are 30 minute spaces apart.
