Statement and Argument Reasoning || Best Short Tricks in hindi by Rajesh choudhary sir
In making decisions about important questions. It is desirable to be able to distinguish between ‘strong’ arguments and ‘weak’ arguments in so far as they relate to questions. ‘Strong’ arguments are those which are both important and directly related to the question. ‘Weak ‘arguments are those which are minor important and also may not be directly related to the question.
Example:1.
Statements: Should only one company be allowed to run the transport system in any one big city? Arguments:
I. Yes. This will put an end to unhealthy competition among different companies.
II. No. The commuter should be given a wider choice of the transport system.
Solution: Clearly, handing over the monopoly of the transport system to one company will end up all competition in the field, which may result in high fares and poor services, thus adding to commenter’s’ woes. So, only argument II holds strong while I do not.
Example : 2.
Statements: Should all the foreign banks be asked to close down their operations in India?
Arguments:
I. No. This will have an adverse effect on Indian economy.
II. Yes. This is the only way to make the Indian banks survive and prosper.
Solution: Clearly, India has its own nationalized banks to take care of the financial business. So, argument I is vague. Moreover, Indian banks can survive well with the foreign banks also, by providing better facilities and services to their clients. So, argument II also does not hold strong. Thus, none of the arguments holds strong.
Example: 3.
Statements: Should the government open more medical colleges in the country?
Arguments:
I. Yes. There urgent need of qualified doctors and the ratio between doctors and the citizens is the lowest in India.
II. No. The Government should ensure quality education in the existing Medical Colleges as majority of the colleges lack necessary infrastructure.
Solution: Clearly, providing the existing Medical Colleges with modern and more sophisticated infrastructure can help them produce more and much learned doctors, as they can they can then cater to more students and provide quality education. So, only argument II hold strong while I does not.
