The process of making a group of people sit as per a prefixed manner in called seating arrangement. In this type of question, some clues reading seating or placing sequence (linear or circular) of some persons or items are given. The students requested to form the proper sequence using these clues and answer the given questions accordingly.
A quick method to solve questions
» First of all take a quick glance at the given information.
» Next determine the usefulness of each information and classify then accordingly as Indefinite Statement and Restrictions.
» When the place of any person or object is not mentioned definitely but mentioned only in the comparison of another person or object, then we say, that it is ‘indefinite Statement’ e.g. P is between Q and R.
» A part of definite information may consist of restricted information. A restrictions information not tell us anything definite but it gives an idea to eliminate a possibility. e.g. P is not an immediate neighbor of S.

Directions (Q. 42-48): Study the following information carefully and answer the given questions.
Eight colleagues, A, B, C, D, E, F, G and H, are sitting around a circular table facing the centre but not necessarly in the same order. Each one of them holds a different post Manager, Company Secretary, Chairman, President Vice President, Group Leader, Financial Advisor and Managing Director.
A sits third to the right of the Managing Director. Only two people sit between the Managing Director and H. The Vice President and the Company Secretary are immediate neighbours. Neither A nor H is a Vice President or a Company Secretary. The Vice President is not an immediate neighbour of the Managing Director.
