The Indian indices opened higher today despite mixed global cues with Nifty above 24300.

The Sensex was up 212.31 points or 0.27 percent at 80,322.16, and the Nifty was up 62.90 points or 0.26 percent at 24,284.80. About 1662 shares advanced, 656 shares declined, and 108 shares unchanged.

Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, HUL, Shriram Finance and TCS were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were ONGC, NTPC, L&T, Trent and Tata Motors.
