I wanted to discuss more specific examples of what I am creating to further express the value of a form of "first principles thinking." The notion that, when adding something, asking WHY are you adding it. What is enjoyable about it? What isn't? And then designing around those answers, rather than the cool sounding gimmick you may have concepted at the very beginning. Don't take anything for granted: Ask why those things made you want to make a game, and if there's anything you can do differently to achieve that next iteration so the next generation might be left with an even better impression of gaming than you were.
