Insector X (インセクターＸ) was released on the Japanese Sega Mega Drive and Sega Genesis in 1990. Brazil followed in 1991. Korea also saw 2 different releases, 1 by Samsung (the principal Sega's publisher in Korea) and 1 by Hi-Com. This horizontal shoot-'em-up game was originally developed as an arcade game in 1989 and then ported to the Sega Mega Drive by HOT-B that also published it in Japan, while Sage's Creation was the publisher for the United States and Tectoy for Brazil.

This organic shooter is a decent game even if it's not the most original SHMUP on teh console.
