Inside Out is a 2015 American animated coming-of-age film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. This movie took us on an emotional rollercoaster (literally), and we were not prepared for how deep it gets.
From laugh-out-loud moments to unexpected tears, this film had us reflecting on childhood, change, and all the emotions that live rent-free in our heads.
In Inside Out, we journey inside the mind of 11-year-old Riley, where five core emotions — Joy, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and Disgust — help guide her through life. But when Riley’s family moves to a new city, Joy and Sadness get accidentally swept away from Headquarters, leaving the other emotions to manage things on their own.
As Joy and Sadness struggle to make it back, Riley begins to emotionally unravel in the real world. Through imaginative landscapes and powerful emotional truths, Inside Out shows us just how important all our feelings truly are.
This Oscar-winning film from Pixar is as moving as it is visually stunning, and it hits just as hard for adults as it does for kids.
