Today I show you how to Install Cyanogen Mod 12.1 on your Zenfone 2. This includes, installing ADB, rooting, unlocking bootloader, installing custom recovery, installing cyanogen mod, and installing google apps!

Step 1) Install ADB: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2588979
Step 2 ) Root phone, read description of this video: https://youtu.be/jQ8WhFbKhNQ
Step 3) Unlock Bootloader: Open command Prompt. Type:
adb shell (press enter)
su (press enter)
getprop ro.isn (shift+ . symbol, youtube won't let me type it, just see links above for help if you don't understand) /factory/asuskey ( press enter)
reboot bootloader ( press enter )
Bootloader will not be unlocked, and Asus splash screen will be white
Step 4) Custom Recovery:
Download the TWRP file: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0mn6OUqIDzBQ0RUZHRXUWFkLUU/view
Rename it to simply twrp.img, turn off your phone, plug cable into phone, hold the VOL UP, and plug the cable into the computer. Wait until the android guy to appear. And wait until you see the message saying waiting for fastboot command.
When you are in the folder with the TWRP.img file, right click while holding shift, and click "open command here."
Then type fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
5)Should be installed, restart phone, boot into the custom recovery (power, plus volume up, let go of power after you feel vibrate, but still hold volume up). Keep hitting volume down until you se recovery mode, then click power button to select.
6)Wipe data, cache, davlik, etc
7)Load the CM.zip and then the Gappa.zip
8)You should be good to go!
