Do you know that the speed of the IDE interface in your Amiga depends on several factors, first setpatch, second Fast Rom, and thirdly, MMU libraries. This third step is not essential, in fact I had to revert back to my original setup due to incompatibilities with CanDo, but if you just want to play games, this can help.

A comment on Lemon was asking why they were only getting half of the IDE specs for an upgraded A1200. Daedalus on Lemon replied that installing MMU libraries can help to get those last few MBPS out of the cables. So I tried it, and recorded my results. With an 030, it seems to shave off at least 1 second to loading times, when using 16bit slow expanded memory. With true 32bit ram, this goes up maybe by another second, so things start to appear very fast. With a 50mhz 030 instead of a 25mhz 030, you get more-or-less instant loading of most things.

NOTE: of course, this stuff is only compatible with your Amiga if your processor supports an MMU. The stock EC 020 in the A1200 does NOT support an MMU, so you really need a 'non EC' 030 or better to make use of this stuff.
