I was looking for a good RPG to play through, and I had heard great things about the Witcher 3, so I picked up a bundle of all 3 Witcher games on sale a while back. While playing through the Witcher 3, I came across some dialogue fairly early on that references the older 2 games. I then thought to myself, why am I starting the series on the 3rd installment? So I decided to do the proper thing and go back in time to when RPGs had much more depth, were more dialogue heavy, and had the worst and most clunky combat systems I’ve ever seen. Join me as I relive every game in the Witcher series.

The Witcher is the first installment in the acclaimed and beloved “Witcher” series based on the novels series of the same name by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski (please don’t ask me to pronounce that). In The Witcher you take control of Geralt of Rivia, one of a few traveling monster hunters who have supernatural powers, known as Witchers. The Witcher was a contrast to other RPGs of its time by presenting the world in shades of grey, instead of the normal black-and-white morality that was common. I’m playing on the “Enhanced Edition” which adds a lot of stability, bug fixes, corrected translations, new models, expanded dialogue, and a redesigned inventory system.
