Intel CPU Bug Cannot Be Fixed With Microcode Update | Cripples Performance Up To 30 Percent
Intel are in a world of trouble, as it has been discovered that a bug in the design of their processors could impact performance by up to 30 PERCENT, and worse - not microcode update will fix the issue at all. Therefore, if you wish to retain the current hardware you'll need a OS based update, which will negatively impact performance. Adding further insult to injury, this problem doesn't occur with AMD hardware, a potential diaster for Intel going forward given AMD's moves with Epyc against Intel's Xeon in the datacenter.
