Intel joins with Folding@home to tackle COVID19 & other diseases | Intel
187Folding@Home (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Folding... ) is a long established distributed computing project to work out how proteins in your body move and operate. The mechanics of this movement are key to working out which drugs and vaccines are going to interact with a protein to either block or promote its activity (i.e. treat, cure or prevent a disease). Simulating this movement is a heinous task, chewing through much data. Intel has been helping Folding@home with this task, contributing code and compute power to work on the proteins involved in COVID-19 and other diseases. The time to act is now.
