Hello hello! Back with another video after a week of me being in Amsterdam and this time, we will be checking out XESS 1.1 which got posted on github sometime ago and see if it actually improves performance and visual quality like they noted in the presentation?

I noticed at Returnal that somehow it didn't render the XESS 1.1 results at the end ... the average FPS was -1 from 1.0. Didn't want to encode the video again for 45m so yeah sorry for that.

Intel XESS 1.1 DLL files can be downloaded from here:
https://github.com/intel/xess/releases/tag/v1.1.0

Replace it with the current files in the game directory (can be different for each game). The files are located in the BIN folder.

Do note that I am not DigitalFoundry and won't go into the in-depth details how it compares in terms of visual quality ... I will just say that there was a difference in sharpness and more detail seen when I was playing around plus we can clearly see the FPS boost in Modern Warfare 2 test. Not much has changed in MW2 since release and changing XESS to 1.1 can give you some boost if optimization has been forgotten for this game.

I haven't used the latest driver since there aren't many fixes. Can see the version of the driver in most of the results in the video.
