Interactive Path Tracer (v2.0) - Part 03 - New GPU "Testing"
10Disclaimer: There's nothing much new in terms of additional features or updated code (only a few minor tweaks and bug fixes). However, I did pick up a new GPU a short while back and decided to give it a go and grab some new footage along the way.
The video was captured directly from my path tracer at a native resolution of 3440x1440p (using OBS Studio). The only video changes were in the editing to overlay the intro/outro graphics and fades between clips. Otherwise, the captured footage is unaltered. Of course, the noisy nature of path tracing does not lend itself well to video compression so quality may suffer in some areas!
EDIT: I have noticed that the video encoding process has introduced some unintended rendering artefacts/glitches that were not present in the source files - most notably in the section showing the multiple male heads against a black background. I may consider encoding the video again at a later date but, for now at least, it will have to stay that way!
This path tracer is not using RTX - just C++ and CUDA (with OpenGL interop so that I can read/write frame buffers as needed) and exists mainly for fun, research, experimentation, learning, and professional development.

Written in CUDA (v11.x) / C++ (Visual Studio 2022) and running on Windows 11 Pro (64-bit).
