Proper handling of interface definitions is key when designing the architecture of large systems. Franca is an open source framework for the definition and transformation of software interfaces. The talk will give an introduction to Franca, emphasizing concepts like definition of dynamic behavior and code generation for HTML5 and MQTT.

Franca will soon be a member of the Eclipse project family: It will be contributed as an Eclipse project (https://www.eclipse.org/proposals/modeling.franca).

Until the Eclipse project is established, Franca is located on EclipseLabs (http://code.google.com/a/eclipselabs.org/p/franca).

The presentation will include some demos showing how to use Franca for IoT, Web UIs and Automotive/Infotainment systems. A robot arm will be controlled live on stage using Franca code generation.
