Eclipse + Workspace = Profile… launch it!
In this session we introduce a new project to easily manage, share and launch Eclipse profiles consisting of a combination of workspace and associated Eclipse installation.
Do you have to browse for the right Eclipse to start the right workspace every time? Or do you regularly fiddle with start menu entries for that?
Did you ever get your workspace messed up by starting it with the wrong Eclipse or lose track of all your installed Eclipse versions?
Do you sometimes wonder why there isn’t just the right Eclipse package available for you off-the-shelf and you have to install all the good stuff from the Marketplace and countless update sites by hand?
Do you spend countless hours on each new project to get your Eclipse and workspace up and running, driving your co-workers crazy with questions? Or are you the poor soul maintaining Eclipse zips or setup documentation for your project?
Would you like to easily share your favorite custom Eclipse package or project setup with your co-workers or the world?
If you are no stranger to any of these issues, have a look and join the discussion afterwards.
We will be presenting our answers to these problems in a new project that focuses on making Eclipse management and sharing dead easy. Learn how we built a small and very light-weight app based on JavaFX and HTML that lets you access and launch all your Eclipse and workspace profiles with tight OS and Eclipse integration, using the awesome Eclipse Oomph engine for managing Eclipse installations and workspace setups automagically.
