The 13th Doll ignores the events of The 11th Hour (a 1995 sequel to The 7th Guest, which under-performed and garnered poor reviews). It is notable for having the unprecedented blessing of Trilobyte, the original developer of The 7th Guest, as well as Trilobyte's assistance in porting and selling the game commercially on multiple systems.
