Intro - Starting From Scratch - The Illestrated EP (2004)
0This is the introduction on "Starting From Scratch". I took the passage from Ezekiel 25:17 ready by Jules in the movie Pulp Fiction, who was played by Samuel L. Jackson and included it before a little interlude, which I felt encompassed the scope and breadth of the project. In the movie Pulp Fiction, Jules says this verse a little differently every time he says it, which kind of represents an evolution in himself. With that idea (and the idea that he says it before he kills someone), you could arguably say that I wanted to use this to foreshadow things to come on the album. It also has a little connotation given the fact we all went to a catholic school. But, the interpretation is yours.
In 2004, $uga Shane, B-Savage, and Exalted 1ne combined our skills to create Starting From Scratch... The Illestrated EP. Illestrated was sort of our group name. It was a combination of Illest-rated and illustrated. We would draw you a picture and show you our skills.
